Franz Beckenbauer is a legend. He is known, in short, as the only one who has won the World Cup both as a player and as a manager. When he won the World Cup and the European Championship he was captain of West Germany, while he led his club called Bayern Munich to three successive European Cups and the European
European Cup Winners'
Cup.
Beckenbauer is
remembered not only for medals, but for the style and innovation he brought. They didn't call him "Emperor Franz" and "The
Kaiser" for nothing. The arrogance in his play reflected how he was always in command. He was in command because of the way he organized and changed the game, the way he revolutionized it by inventing the role of the attacking sweeper.
Nobody thought that a sweeper should be alone in his opponents' half of the field or scoring?! Until Beckenbauer showed us. He showed us central defense and powerful long runs. The element of surprise coming from this tactic to the modern game became his trademark. We have them available on our website, so click through and happy shopping.

Buffalo Pepsi shoes
Buffalo shoes were a must-have in the 1996 for young girls around the world thanks to the Spice Girls. If you google buffalo shoes, a series of photos with Spice Girls will show up, attesting they have been trendsetters for this particular style of shoes. It is debatable whether they are coming back or not, some are saying they will be famous again only when the girls will get back together.

The ASICS Gel Lyte III Puddle Pack Red is released on 1st October.
The sneaker has a full suede upper instead of smaller details, everything matched with hits of grey. The footbeds adopt a rain camo style print in red, blue and black, while the white midsoles prove a more traditional approach. Detailing on the eyelets and the Asics stripes, the heel cup complete the overall look.
With matching mesh on the tongue and leather on the formstripes, this trio embellishes simplicity, quality and good taste.

Asics Gel Lyte
After Carl Sagan said we are all stardust, physics explained how carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron weren't created at the beginning of time, but in the nuclear furnaces of stars that exploded.
The galaxy look is popular first among Nike, Vans, Converse and now with Asics, who is showing off its starry skies. The sneaker is dressed in a black upper with dark blue and purple patterns, while sitting on top of a white midsole with the iconic split tongue design. The theme is neverending and pays tribute to the galaxies above and beyond.

What's Dr Martens up to
Photographer Jamie Morgan and Ray Petri showed up at the office of The Face
with a black and white cover image of a 13 year old boy who had the eyes of a
gangster. This started the Buffalo movement and words cut out from newspapers
onto the clothes, though words like "killer". The magazine brought to
light the attitude that emerged from London’s post punk melting of cultures and
subcultures, blurring the lines between masculine and feminine. This happened
30 years ago and today Jamie Morgan and Barry Kamen pay homage to the Buffalo
movement by collaborating on the fall/winter collection of 2015, shooting a
series of images and a short film for “The spirit of Buffalo”. Shop the

Interview with Palladium
We get it from Wikipedia that Palladium is a rare metal and has been used in the printing process to make black and white photography prints. It is also used in electronics, dentistry, medicine, hydrogen purification, chemical applications, groundwater treatment and jewelry. In technology, Palladium is used for fuel cells, which produce electricity, heat and water by combining hydrogen with oxygen.
From chemicals in technology to chemistry in the fashion industry
In the fashion industry, though, Palladium is a company that is all about adventure and discovery, our best seller brand. Their latest campaign "Explorers" is taking us from Budapest to Singapore, from Tel Aviv to Melbourne and to many others cities we dreamed to explore or if we're lucky enough, even planned to.
Read the interview below with brand manager Joe Khalifa to find out more about this campaign and about the brand in general. http://www.palladiumboots.com/blog/eu/video/
Can you tell us a bit more about the brand history?
We have such a rich and honest heritage. That word gets used a lot nowadays, but we really do. In 1920 Palladium was manufacturing aircraft tires for the growing war lead aviation industry. In 1940 as the war comes to end the aviation industry decreased its demands. Stemming from its expertise in rubber resources, Palladium opened its first footwear factory in Pont-de-Chéruy, France. We used our expertise to make boots that were as hard wearing as our tires. The boots were so comfortable and durable that they were adopted by the legendary French Foreign Legion. As the world modernized, Palladium moved into the fashion world. The brand soon become an iconic boot and in the 90’s was the uniform of many field ravers and acid house goers. We are now the official boot for city exploring…still picked up by the ravers!
Did you have to adjust the brand in order to stay in the market for so
long?
We didn’t intentionally, but the brand just evolved over
time…as you can see our iconic silhouette, the Pampa Hi, hasn’t really adjusted
at all, but the use and originality of the brand has adapted over generations
and social statuses. We like to think that makes us timeless!
Can you describe your customer in three words?
On trend! Original! Ha!
"The explorers" is great as a campaign, what do you think of the
impact it had and how did you come up with the idea?
We hope it encourages people to explore different
subcultures in cities all over the world. All lifestyle aspects that they might
be missing. Restaurants, clubs, hidden bars, galleries, libraries, music shops!
Cities are the heartbeat for the world, we hope the campaign shows
people things they may love, but currently can’t find.
The idea started as so many people wearing Palladiums
started sending pictures of them in underground and urban city spaces…it grew,
so we listened and grew with them.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Everyone!
What materials are you using for designing the boots and why?
Our materials are so varied. We research everything
we use and design with a purpose. From recycled army blankets, to reflective
rubber, we really do use materials that consist of our heritage and cater for
that modern city explorer.
What is Palladium's best sold item and why do you think that is?
The iconic Pampa Hi. It’s a uniquely versatile,
fashionable and comfy boot. This boot is legendary and is to so many a brand that
symbolizes a culture and is worn by those in the know.
